Three of Janet's poems, "Sisters in Stone," "That Day of Red," and "What If the Scalpel Slips?" were recently nominated by Verse Libre Quarterly, Erosha, and Facets Magazine for the 2002 Pushcart Prize in Poetry.

These are Janet's fourth, fifth, and sixth Pushcart nominations. The first two were in 2000 (Gravity and Kimera) and the third was in 2001 (Pedestal Magazine).

Janet Buck is a semi-finalist in the Y2K poetry contest sponsored by Northwoods Press and The Conservatory of American Letters. Finalists are published in a book entitled Life Shards: ISBN: 0-89002-355-7. The winning poet is yet to be announced.
